Blessings in a Backpack appoints Jenn Robinson as new Southwest Florida Chapter managing director

Blessings in a Backpack is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenn Robinson as the new managing director for its Southwest Florida chapter. Robinson brings over 15 years of extensive experience in public education and community involvement, making her an ideal leader for the organization’s vital mission.

“As a former teacher, I’ve seen firsthand how hunger impacts a child’s focus, behavior, and overall ability to learn,” said Jenn Robinson. “I joined Blessings in a Backpack to directly address this critical need. We plan to do everything in our power to ensure elementary students in our 5-county region have food each weekend.”

Throughout her distinguished career, Robinson has held pivotal leadership roles across public education, nonprofit organizations, and various civic initiatives in Southwest Florida. Her notable accomplishments include spearheading the creation of Lee County’s first postsecondary program for students with intellectual disabilities, helping launch the school district’s first on-campus pediatric clinic, and leading successful community projects like the rebuilding of two city playgrounds.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jenn to the Blessings in a Backpack family,” said Erin Kerr, CEO of Blessings in a Backpack. “Her deep roots in Southwest Florida, combined with her passion for education and equity, make her the perfect leader to build on the incredible foundation this community has laid. We’re excited for the impact she will make as we continue working together to ensure no child goes hungry on the weekends.”

Robinson also possesses deep expertise in fundraising, grant evaluation, and event leadership. She has chaired and actively supported numerous nonprofit events and served on multiple nonprofit boards, consistently demonstrating a focus on equity and community impact.

“I believe deeply in the power of our community to make a difference,” Robinson added. “Blessings in a Backpack allows me to unite partners, volunteers, and schools around a shared, powerful mission: fighting childhood hunger and helping students succeed. This is a mission I am truly proud to lead, and I am committed to mobilizing our caring community to ensure every student has the nourishment they need to thrive.”
