Success at Neil Armstrong Elementary in Port Charlotte
At Neil Armstrong Elementary, Program Coordinator Lisa Morzes has become a beacon of hope for hundreds of students and families. With nearly 10 years of service in Charlotte County Public Schools and six years at Neil Armstrong, Lisa is deeply committed to supporting students facing some of life’s toughest challenges. Her dedication has driven her to go above and beyond, establishing a resource room stocked with school supplies, and essential items, including a parent food pantry to ensure families have the support they need.
In 2022, Lisa partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to bring weekly meals to students facing food insecurity. Starting with meals for 50 students, her efforts have expanded the program to feed 150 children each week. Despite this success, there are hundreds more at Neil Armstrong Elementary who could benefit, as 484 students qualify for free lunch, indicating substantial food insecurity. Lisa also provides critical resources to 31 homeless students and 135 children with special needs, underscoring the broad support she works to provide.
Lisa’s dedication and collaboration with Blessings in a Backpack have created a lasting impact on these students, but the need continues to grow. With support from donors, we can help Lisa extend the reach of Blessings in a Backpack to feed more children each week, creating a sense of security and well-being that every child deserves.
We need more dedicated donors for this school! For a $150 per child you could support one of our children here at Neil Armstrong or as a company contact us for our school investor information.
