Dear Friends of Blessings in a Backpack:

I’m honored and grateful for the incredibly warm welcome I’ve received since being appointed as Managing Director. It’s been a joy to step into a role surrounded by such passionate and committed individuals.

In these early weeks, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with both founding and current advisory board members – many of whom have been with Blessings of a Backpack SWFL since the very beginning. Hearing their personal “why” behind their commitment to our mission has been incredibly moving. Their unwavering passion for ensuring children have food on the weekends continues to inspire and energize me as we move forward together.

I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with school leaders across our region, working together to set the school year up for success – fueled and ready to go. Cheering on students as they stepped onto campus for their first day back to school was a joyful reminder of why we do this work. While out in the community, I’ve met with a wide range of stakeholders – donors, partners, elected officials, students, volunteers, and families. The collective energy and shared vision for supporting our students is truly uplifting and speaks volumes about the heart of this community.

As we look ahead to September, I’m excited to share that Sizzle Dining is just around the corner! This highly anticipated SWFL event – championed by one of our very own board members – features over 100 participating restaurants offering prix fixe menus. For every Sizzle Dining meal purchased, $1 goes directly to Blessings in a Backpack, helping us feed more children each weekend. It’s a delicious way to dine with purpose and support our mission.
